This rail freight service will be operated by the <strong data-start=\"351\" data-end=\"380\">DBCC Transport consortium<\/strong>, formed by <strong data-start=\"392\" data-end=\"403\">Cointer<\/strong> (Grupo Azvi\u2019s concessions company), <strong data-start=\"440\" data-end=\"470\">Christophersen (CHR Group)<\/strong>, and <strong data-start=\"476\" data-end=\"517\">Deutsche Bahn International Operation<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"522\" data-end=\"822\">These <strong data-start=\"528\" data-end=\"560\">state-of-the-art locomotives<\/strong>, the most modern in Latin America, meet the <strong data-start=\"605\" data-end=\"640\">highest environmental standards<\/strong>. During April and May, they will travel by sea from the <strong data-start=\"697\" data-end=\"723\">port of Bilbao (Spain)<\/strong> to <strong data-start=\"727\" data-end=\"741\">Montevideo<\/strong>, while the remaining two units will arrive during the <strong data-start=\"796\" data-end=\"819\">second half of 2023<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"824\" data-end=\"1130\"><strong data-start=\"824\" data-end=\"835\">PorTren<\/strong>, a joint venture between <strong data-start=\"861\" data-end=\"891\">Christophersen (CHR Group)<\/strong> and <strong data-start=\"896\" data-end=\"907\">Cointer<\/strong>, is responsible for providing all the rolling stock required for the service \u2014 a total of <strong data-start=\"998\" data-end=\"1049\">7 locomotives and 140 specially designed wagons<\/strong>. The trains will consist of up to <strong data-start=\"1084\" data-end=\"1127\">26 wagons hauled by a single locomotive<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1132\" data-end=\"1158\"><strong>Freight rail service<\/strong><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1160\" data-end=\"1442\"><strong data-start=\"1160\" data-end=\"1190\">Christophersen (CHR Group)<\/strong> and <strong data-start=\"1195\" data-end=\"1206\">Cointer<\/strong>, together with <strong data-start=\"1222\" data-end=\"1264\">Deutsche Bahn International Operations<\/strong>, through <strong data-start=\"1274\" data-end=\"1292\">DBCC Transport<\/strong>, will handle the <strong data-start=\"1310\" data-end=\"1336\">rail transport of pulp<\/strong> along the <strong data-start=\"1347\" data-end=\"1363\">273 km route<\/strong> connecting UPM\u2019s new plant in Paso de los Toros with the port of Montevideo.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1444\" data-end=\"1679\"><strong data-start=\"1444\" data-end=\"1455\">PorTren<\/strong> is also currently building a <strong data-start=\"1485\" data-end=\"1526\">rail operation and maintenance center<\/strong>, which will include a <strong data-start=\"1549\" data-end=\"1570\">3,000 m\u00b2 workshop<\/strong> fully equipped to service the entire rolling stock fleet, supported by a <strong data-start=\"1644\" data-end=\"1676\">1,000 m\u00b2 administrative area<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1681\" data-end=\"1922\">The <strong data-start=\"1685\" data-end=\"1721\">Operation and Maintenance Center<\/strong> will be the base for <strong data-start=\"1743\" data-end=\"1761\">DBCC Transport<\/strong>, employing <strong data-start=\"1773\" data-end=\"1796\">more than 60 people<\/strong> directly, all specially trained to ensure <strong data-start=\"1839\" data-end=\"1871\">efficient and safe transport<\/strong> using this latest-generation railway technology.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\">Photos:
