with its partner <strong>SACYR<\/strong> Concesiones, has just started the operation of Desierto de Atacama Airport as part of <strong>Chile\u2019s Northern Airport Network<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>This infrastructure joins others managed by Cointer, such as Presidente Carlos Ib\u00e1\u00f1ez del Campo Airport and <a href=\"https:\/\/grupoazvinews.com\/en\/azvis-work-at-balmaceda-aerodrome-foundations-and-structure-of-the-terminal-building\/\">Balmaceda Aerodrome<\/a> (both part of the Austral Network), as well as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.azvi.es\/en\/portfolio\/la-florida-de-la-serena-airport\/\">La Florida Airport<\/a> in La Serena, consolidating our position as a reference in airport management in the country.<\/p>\n<p>The new concession, awarded in September 2024, also includes <strong>Antofagasta Airport<\/strong> and will receive investment of 260 million euros to modernise both infrastructures.<\/p>\n<p>Future actions at <strong>Atacama Airport<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Expansion of the passenger terminal to 18,274 m\u00b2.<\/li>\n<li>Addition of 4 boarding bridges.<\/li>\n<li>Expansion of aircraft parking areas.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The works will begin in 2027 and will be completed in 2030, improving the travel experience of 720,000 passengers per year.<strong><br \/>\n<\/strong>[\/vc_column_text]<div class=\"lqd-img-gal\">\n\n\t<div class=\"lqd-img-gal-imgs\">\n\n\t\t<div class=\"carousel-container carousel-nav-floated carousel-nav-center
