{"id":18109,"date":"2025-04-04T11:49:08","date_gmt":"2025-04-04T10:49:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/grupoazvinews.com\/la-linea-ferroviaria-arna-bergen-reconocida-como-construccion-del-ano-2024-en-noruega\/"},"modified":"2025-04-04T12:35:42","modified_gmt":"2025-04-04T11:35:42","slug":"the-arna-bergen-railway-line-named-construction-of-the-year-2024-in-norway","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/grupoazvinews.com\/en\/the-arna-bergen-railway-line-named-construction-of-the-year-2024-in-norway\/","title":{"rendered":"The Arna-Bergen Railway Line Named Construction of the Year 2024 in Norway"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]The <strong>Arna-Bergen double-track railway line<\/strong> has been named <strong>Construction of the Year 2024 in Norway<\/strong> at the <strong>Byggedagene<\/strong> (Construction Days) Awards, organized by <a href=\"https:\/\/anlegg.bygg.no\/anlegg-bane-nor-bergen\/dobbeltspor-arna-bergen-karet-til-arets-anlegg-2024\/2776396\">Byggeindustrien<\/a>, the country\u2019s leading construction publication.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Azvi Norge<\/strong> is proud to have participated in this project for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.banenor.no\/\">Bane NOR<\/a>, which, in its entirety, marked the most extensive construction project on the line since its inauguration in 1909.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Azvi<\/strong> contributed with two major projects:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The <strong>rehabilitation and extension of the old Ulriken tunnel<\/strong>, which required over 400 blastings.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Track, catenary and installation assembly in the new Ulriken tunnel<\/strong>, where the country\u2019s first ballastless track was installed in 2020.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The jury praised the excellent <strong>safety<\/strong> record, with zero major incidents, as well as the environmental protection measures, including the reuse of construction materials and monitoring to conserve local wildlife.<\/p>\n<p>In terms of <strong>sustainability<\/strong>, the project implemented strategies to reduce noise, vibrations, and community impact, while maintaining rail service throughout the construction period.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Arna-Bergen Railway Line: A Historic Project<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A large section of the Arna-Bergen Railway Line crosses <strong>Ulriken<\/strong>, one of the seven mountains surrounding the city of <strong>Bergen<\/strong>. The old and the new tunnels now form a double track corridor that passes through the mountain.<\/p>\n<p>The old Ulriken tunnel, which celebrated its 60th anniversary in 2024, was completely rehabilitated before connecting to the new tunnel. Its <a href=\"https:\/\/grupoazvinews.com\/en\/azvi-participa-en-la-inauguracion-de-bane-nor-de-la-linea-de-ferrocarril-arna-bergen-en-noruega\/\">inauguration<\/a> in May 2024 culminated a process that had begun almost a decade earlier, when construction on the new tunnel commenced.<\/p>\n<p>Great work!
