This is the highest honorary distinction awarded by the autonomous community of Andalusia.
The Andalusian Regional Government has today approved the Andalusia 2023 medals, distinctions that are awarded annually on 28th February, on the occasion of the day of the community. This year they have recognised Manuel Contreras Ramos, honorary president of Grupo Azvi, in the category of ‘Projection of Andalusia’.
Manuel Contreras Ramos was at the head of this centenary company for almost six decades, during which time proudly carried the name of Andalusia beyond our borders, transforming Azvi into a renowned international company linked to large-scale infrastructure projects worldwide.
This distinction recognises his personal achievements, business career and commitment to his homeland, Andalusia, after 58 years of dedication to what is today an innovative, diversified, internationalised and sustainable business group, with a turnover of over €565 million and more than 3,500 employees worldwide.
For Manuel Contreras Ramos it is a “great surprise and immense joy and pride to have been awarded this Medal of Andalusia, above all, for being recognised in my homeland, where I have always wanted to succeed and help”. “I have always carried and continue to carry Andalusia and Seville with me wherever I go”.
The presentation of the Medals will take place on 28 February during the celebration of Andalusia Day at the Teatro de la Maestranza in Seville.
