How can open innovation transform the construction and infrastructure sectors? Azvi’s Innovation Director, Domingo Pérez Mira, shared our experience and vision on this topic at the roundtable held at CESUR’s GeneraSur Summit this week.
Mr Pérez Mira touched on topics such as the benefits of innovation through the integration of ideas and external collaboration, as well as tangible achievements such as the design of rolling stock systems for freight transport or the development of specialised machinery to improve track infrastructure construction processes. He also mentioned technological solutions resulting from open innovation developed in Azvi’s factories in collaboration with partners, clients and subcontractors.
He also highlighted the importance of collaboration between companies, start-ups and research centres in creating technological solutions that provide value and sustainability. Pérez Mira highlighted that “the key is to take advantage of both what we do well internally and what others can contribute from outside the company. In this way, creativity and competitiveness are encouraged and organisations have access to a wide range of knowledge and technologies that can complement and improve innovation developments”.
