Grupo Azvi’s Cantera Programme has been recognised at the 3rd Expoconstruye Awards in the Employment Generation category.
Azvi has participated in the 6th edition of EXPOCONSTRUYE, Andalusia’s leading construction trade fair, held this week in Jerez de la Frontera. The event brought together more than one hundred companies to address and share the main challenges facing the sector in the region.
Through the participation of several Azvi executives in different panel discussions, the company shared its vision on infrastructure investment, the complementarity of transport hubs, and the attraction and development of talent.
José Manuel Martínez Moral, Azvi’s Director of Contracting, took part in the panel Infrastructure transforming Andalusia: present and future of a region that wants to continue growing, where he advocated the importance of ensuring continuity in infrastructure development and maintenance.
Martínez Moral also highlighted the need to promote public-private financing models within the sector itself, as a complement to traditional investment mechanisms and European funds.
David Díaz Peña, Manager of Traccion Rail, participated in the discussion Andalusia, the logistics hub of southern Europe: ports and railways, where he highlighted the role of railways as a sustainable option for long-distance freight transport. He also emphasised the interdependent relationship between ports and railways and the importance of strengthening their connection.
For his part, Emilio Marcos, Grupo Azvi’s Corporate HR Director, took part in the forum The workforce challenge: how to attract, train and retain the talent the construction industry needs, where he highlighted the importance of geographical mobility in the sector, a characteristic linked to the location of projects and relevant to those pursuing their professional careers in this industry. He also highlighted the company’s investment in technology, particularly Artificial Intelligence, focused on demanding tendering processes.
Young talent also played a leading role at the 3rd Expoconstruye Awards, where Grupo Azvi’s Cantera Programme received an award in the Employment Generation category. This recognition highlights the company’s commitment to the training and development of young professionals.
The inauguration of ExpoConstruye was attended by the Regional Minister for Infrastructure and Mobility of the Regional Government of Andalusia, Mario Muñoz-Atanet; the Regional Minister for Housing, Youth and Spatial Planning, Rocío Díaz; and the Mayor of Jerez de la Frontera, María José García-Pelayo, together with representatives of the sector’s main business organisations. The Deputy Regional Minister for Infrastructure and Mobility of the Regional Government of Andalusia, Eduardo Gutiérrez, also attended.
During a discussion held before the opening ceremony, Muñoz-Atanet stated that infrastructure in Andalusia “requires planning, well-defined projects, financing and execution capacity”, and stressed the importance of dialogue and coordination between public administrations and companies to respond to mobility and connectivity needs.
For her part, Rocío Díaz advocated public-private collaboration so that “projects can move from plans to reality”, particularly in the field of affordable housing. The Regional Minister also highlighted the need to have land ready for construction and to streamline administrative procedures.
García-Pelayo underlined the importance of joint efforts between public administrations and developers to expand the supply of subsidised and affordable housing. She also highlighted Jerez’s potential to promote new residential developments and the need to reduce administrative obstacles to facilitate investment.
Through this participation, Azvi reaffirms its commitment to infrastructure development, railway mobility and the creation of professional opportunities, three fundamental areas for the future of the sector.
