Ispalvia, Grupo Azvi’s railway electrification company, has just expanded its machinery fleet with the arrival of a new, state-of-the-art bimodal truck.
Supplied by Vefca, this vehicle features a rotating and extendable tower and can operate on all three track gauges — metric, Iberian, and international — allowing Ispalvia to compete for projects requiring the most advanced bimodal equipment.
Since its arrival, the new bimodal truck — fully certified and approved — has been operating at Chamartín Station (Madrid), where Ispalvia is responsible for the electrification of Iberian-gauge tracks and platforms.
New acquisitions
In addition, a new APV 500 track motor car, also equipped with a rotating and extendable tower, is expected to arrive after the summer. This Italian-made machine is also of the latest generation and can operate on both Iberian and international gauges. Its power makes it suitable to serve as the lead vehicle for a future wiring train, a set of machines that enables tensioning of the contact wires, achieving significantly higher performance in catenary installation.
Furthermore, two additional bimodal trucks, acquired in 2021, are expected to arrive in the coming months and are scheduled to be operational by spring.
