Azvi begins concreting the upper slab of the Seville Metro Line 3 tunnel

Azvi has begun concreting the upper slab of the tunnel it is building on Seville Metro Line 3, with nearly 300m already completed.  The slab includes a series of openings to excavate inside the tunnel.  Excavated material will be removed through these openings and then disposed of from the surface.  This procedure enables excavation to continue beneath the completed slab

Works on the OGI axle gauge changer at Irún station completed

Azvi has completed the installation of an automatic OGI gauge-changing facility at Irún station, including the associated track and electrification works. The project, on the Madrid–Hendaye line, forms part of a pilot test for the use of this technology in commercial freight services, enabling trains to run between networks with different track gauges by automatically changing the gauge of their axles.  As this is an experimental installation, the works have been carried out with the least possible impact on the activity of the intermodal terminal and without modifying the existing interlocking system.  The OGI system enables trains equipped with variable-gauge axles to automatically adapt their gauge when travelling across different railway networks.  This technology contributes to:  Eliminating break-of-gauge points.  Avoiding axle changes or the transshipment of goods between wagons.  Reducing journey times and logistics costs.  Improving the interoperability and competitiveness of rail freight transport. 

Transforming Madrid Chamartín-Clara Campoamor Station

Torre Pacheco Railway Bypass Now in Service

The Torre Pacheco railway bypass, built by Azvi, has entered service, coinciding with the partial opening of the station in the municipality of Torre Pacheco, Murcia.  This project forms part of the construction of the rail formation on the Riquelme–Torre Pacheco section, a key infrastructure project for the future High-Speed Rail connection between Murcia and Cartagena, and for providing Cartagena with access to the Mediterranean Corridor.  The commissioning of the 2.2 km bypass is associated with the partial handover

San Sebastián Metro: Official inauguration of the new Altza-Galtzaraborda section built by Azvi

The Lehendakari of the Basque Government, Imanol Pradales, and the Minister for Sustainable Mobility, Susana García Chueca, last Friday inaugurated the new underground Topo railway bypass - a strategic mobility project for Gipuzkoa, delivered for ETS by the joint venture formed by Azvi, COMSA, Nortúnel and Campezo.  The project included the construction of a new 2.2 km section, developed almost entirely in tunnel, as well as the new underground Pasaia Station:  2,124 m of tunnel excavated using the New Austrian Tunnelling Method

Azvi installs the “Coralina” at Pasaia Station
