Azvi has begun concreting the upper slab of the tunnel it is building on Seville Metro Line 3, with nearly 300m already completed.
- The slab includes a series of openings to excavate inside the tunnel.
- Excavated material will be removed through these openings and then disposed of from the surface.
- This procedure enables excavation to continue beneath the completed slab without disrupting local residents, redevelopment of the surface and minimal impact on the city.
This is one of the key milestones of the section, as once completed this slab will allow the next phase of the works to begin.
The project, which includes the construction of 1.5 km of tunnel using the cut-and-cover technique and two underground stations, is being carried out as part of a larger scale project in a joint venture with Dragados and Martín Casillas.
