Ispalvia, our subsidiary specialising in industrial works and installations, will carry out the renewal of the railway electrification system serving 13 tunnels and the track sections between them, as part of the works to adapt the Algeciras–Zaragoza Rail Motorway to P400 loading gauge requirements in the Despeñaperros area.
The works will be carried out along the corridor between Venta de Cárdenas (Ciudad Real) and Montoro (Córdoba), where Ispalvia will work on the existing 3 kV CA-160 catenary system.
The scope of the works includes:
- Renewal of approximately 12.65 km of catenary, of which 4.34 km run through tunnels and 8.32 km through open-air sections.
- Geometric adjustment of a further 5.28 km of existing catenary in adjacent areas.
- Installation of 216 new poles and dismantling of 177 existing ones.
- Replacement of feeders, sectioning systems and protection systems.
The contract exceeds €4 M with a maximum execution period of eight months.
This new contract further strengthens Ispalvia’s experience in railway electrification and its involvement in strategic projects aimed at modernising and improving railway infrastructure.
