Grupo Azvi was honoured to take part in the opening of this major business event, which this week places Seville at the centre of dialogue between Latin America and Europe.
In the inaugural panel, ‘We connect continents, we build opportunities’, our President, Manuel Contreras Caro, shared his insights alongside Núria Vilanova, President of CEAPI, Sergio Díaz-Granados, Executive President of CAF (Development Bank of Latin America and the Caribbean), and Carmen Gutiérrez, Head of the Global Family Office, Banco Santander.
He highlighted:
- The strategic importance of Latin America for Grupo Azvi: ‘It was our lifeline in the 2008 crisis and remains central to our present and future’.
- The impact of recent geopolitical shifts, from the rise of China to the war in Ukraine, including the role of the US: ‘Donald Trump accelerated a situation that was already coming’.
- The need for a stronger transatlantic alliance: ‘We are the West – America and Europe – we are heading towards a totally bipolar world and we have to stand shoulder to shoulder. Europe needs to wake up, and it will,to drive the strong West that the world needs’.
The conference was inaugurated by the President of the Andalusian Regional Government, Juanma Moreno, marking the beginning of a key week for strengthening the ties between both continents.
