We accompany the Minister of Industry on her visit to Serbia

On the occasion of the official visit to Serbia by the Spanish Minister of Industry, Trade, and Tourism, Reyes Maroto, Azvi, together with other Spanish companies, had the opportunity to participate in a Business Meeting in Belgrade, where they were able to learn firsthand about the country’s situation, priorities, and opportunities to strengthen Spanish business cooperation.

Antonio Mora, Head of Contract Management at Azvi, participated during the meeting in the roundtable on Claims for Time Extensions and Disruptions in the Construction Sector, where the challenges of preparing and managing a time extension claim were discussed, with contributions from contractors, owners, legal advisors, experts, and arbitrators.

The discussion also covered actions that different participants can take throughout the lifecycle of a construction project, from contract negotiation to project handover, to facilitate agreements on claims before resorting to judicial or arbitral proceedings, as well as recommendations, best practices, and lessons learned to reach such agreements quickly while minimizing impact on project progress and commercial relationships between the owner and contractor.

For Minister Reyes Maroto, this was “the largest business event we have held in the country, and it will contribute to strengthening our bilateral institutional and commercial relations.”

Accompanied by the Director General of the Spanish Chamber of Commerce, Inmaculada Riera, the minister highlighted the excellent investment relations between Spain and Serbia. “Today, many Spanish companies that are leaders in sectors such as transport infrastructure, energy, environment, defense, and engineering, among others, are present at this meeting. These companies have a strong international presence and extensive experience. Some are already operating in the Serbian market, demonstrating their interest in this market and their desire to collaborate more closely with Serbian companies.”
