Little by little, the remodeling of Puerta del Sol is becoming a reality. Today, the workers of Azvi and Licuas, united in the UTE Madrid Centro joint venture, carried out the relocation of Madrid’s most iconic symbol: the El Oso y el Madroño statue, to its new location.
In a complex and meticulous operation, fully respectful of the monument, diamond wire was used to separate the 16-ton sculpture from its base and move it next to the Sol Metro station.
Protected at all times by a metal structure during the move, the El Oso y el Madroño now await the arrival of Carlos III and La Mariblanca in their new setting.
We continue working with commitment, proud to be part of the transformation of the city.
