Azsuma, our urban services and environmental company, has once again deployed its full operational capacity for the major street cleaning and municipal solid waste (MSW) collection operation in Almonte during the El Rocío Pilgrimage, one of the largest and most emblematic events on the Andalusian calendar.
This is a logistically complex operation, running 24 hours a day throughout the pilgrimage, carried out on rural roads and sandy terrain, adapting to an environmentally sensitive setting and the presence of nearly one million people over several days.
This year, more than 1,300 tonnes of waste were collected before and during the event, along the pilgrimage routes and around the village, a figure that reflects the scale of this essential service. To preserve the environment and ensure a successful pilgrimage, a total of 7,500 working hours were dedicated to the operation, including the post-event clean-up and restoration.
Azsuma: committed to sustainability and excellence.
