This exhibition, organised by Seville City Council and held in Espacio Santa Clara, brings together an outstanding selection of artworks, historical objects and documents of significant cultural value.
The exhibition takes visitors on a journey through Seville in 1526, a time in which the city was at the heart of the political, economic and cultural context, coinciding with an event that shaped its history: the marriage of Charles V and Isabella of Portugal.
Curated by Professor Alfredo Morales, the exhibition is structured into three sections —Royal Love, The Imperial Wedding; Lisbon and Seville, Overseas Capitals; and Seville, Artistic Universe— providing a comprehensive view of the historical, artistic and global context of 16th-century Seville.
As the Mayor of Seville, José Luis Sanz, has noted, this exhibition represents a magnificent opportunity to rediscover one of the most decisive episodes in the city’s history and to highlight the central role that Seville played in the Europe of its time.
The exhibition runs until May 30th.
Grupo Azvi proudly supports this fascinating cultural initiative celebrating the heritage and history of Seville.
