A new milestone has been reached in the work on the southern extension of the Granada Metro, with the placement of the beams for the bridge over the Dílar River.
This work involves the installation of 39 25-tonne beams that will form the base of the viaduct. Works were initiated by Azvi, alongside Dragados and Martin Casillas, in the presence of the Development Minister of the Junta de Andalucía, Rocío Díaz, accompanied by the Mayors of Churriana and Las Gabias, the Deputy Development Minister, Mario Muñoz-Atanet, the Delegate for the Government of the Junta de Andalucía in Granada, , Antonio Granados; the territorial Delegate for Public Works in Granada, Antonio Ayllón; the Director of the Public Works Agency, José María Rivera; and executives from the construction companies.

Main features of the bridge:
- Length: 26 m, with a single span.
- 56 m wide deck in the form of a pergola.
- Capacity for a double metro track, pedestrian and cycle lanes.
- Additional space such as a square with street furniture and views of the fertile plain of Granada.
- 58° deviation from the river bed.
- 30° metro line crossings.
- Innovative design that integrates mobility and leisure spaces.
The southern extension of the Granada metro is a key infrastructure project that will improve mobility and accessibility for the capital city of Granada and its metropolitan area.It covers 4.6 km and includes seven new stations to serve an estimated two million passengers annually.
