Track assembly and catenary installation works for the Mexico-Toluca Interurban Train are progressing.
The works currently being carried out in El Insurgente are located in a section over 8km long, located between the exit of the tunnel that crosses Monte de las Cruces, State of Mexico, and Santa Fe station, Mexico City, and consist of:
- Installation of double track, including switches and crossrail systems.
- Dynamic and static operation tests on the trains, including weight and circulation tests at speeds of up to 60 km/h.
- On this section, electrical welding has already been completed (around 900 units), as well as stress relieving on track 1.
These works are being carried out while trains continue to run regularly between Zinacantepec and Lerma stations.
