Thanks to the collaboration agreement signed between Grupo Azvi and ADA Instituto Tecnológico Superior, and sponsored by the Fundación Grupo Azvi, ADA-ITS has been approved by the State Railway Safety Agency as a Railway Personnel Training Centre, in accordance with Order FOM/2872/2020 of 5 November, which determines the conditions for obtaining the qualifications that allow railway personnel to perform safety-related duties, as well as the regulations governing training centres and medical examination centres for such personnel.
After a long process, which has culminated in the approval of the Training Programmes for Driving Personnel, ADA-ITS, with the essential collaboration of Grupo Azvi, can now provide the training necessary to obtain the Train Driver’s Licence (Category A), which qualifies holders to drive vehicles and shunting locomotives, work trains and railway vehicles used for the maintenance and construction of railway infrastructure; the Train Driver Diploma (Category B), which qualifies the holder to drive the vehicles listed in Category A, as well as passenger and/or freight trains; and, in addition, the specific training course for obtaining both the Licence and the Train Driver Diploma.

A team made up of various members from the companies that comprise the Group’s Railway Division (Azvi, Traccion Rail and Manfevias) has actively collaborated in both the approval process and the design and development of the Training Programmes for Driving Personnel.
In addition to this participation, the Grupo Azvi’s Railway Division contributes, thanks to the high qualifications of our staff and the extensive experience in railway matters that Azvi, Traccion Rail and Manfevias have accumulated, both theoretical and practical trainers, as well as the necessary resources to carry out the practical training: locomotives, facilities, traffic, etc.
Once the candidates have completed these training courses, they will be able to apply with confidence for the calls made by the State Railway Safety Agency to obtain these qualifications.
It is estimated that the first train driver courses, in their different categories, will begin during the first quarter of 2022. In addition, the Fundación Grupo Azvi will offer a series of scholarships to facilitate young people’s access to a professional career with a future and their integration into the world of work.
