We continue to make progress on Metro de Madrid’s Line 3 extension, from El Casar station (Getafe) to Villaverde Alto (Madrid).

Today had the opportunity to show the President of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, the current status of the project which, once completed, will enable the residents of Getafe and other municipalities in the south of Madrid to reach Puerta del Sol in half an hour, without having to change trains.

Isabel Díaz Ayuso was accompanied, among other authorities, by Sara Hernandez Barroso, Mayor of Getafe, Carlos Díaz-Pache, Deputy Minister of Transport and Infrastructures, Miguel Núñez, Director General of Public Transport Infrastructures and Silvia Roldan, CEO of Metro de Madrid, as well as the chairmen of the three companies that form part of the L3 joint venture, Manuel Contreras Caro, Chairman of Grupo Azvi, Carlos Puente, Chairman of Ossa and Luis Aznar, Chairman of Cotodisa.

2,135 m  of the 2,624 m long section will be built using the Belgian method (traditional in Madrid) while diaphragm walls will be employed in the existing 120 m up to the future El Casar intermodal station , which Azvi will also build. .

This is a project that will benefit more than 1 million users in the southern Madrid region and, at Azvi, we continue striving to make it a reality.

We are firmly committed to a fast, economical and sustainable means of transport.
