The statue of La Mariblanca is now in its new location at Puerta del Sol in Madrid.
The Azvi and Licuas team, MadridCentro, carried out a delicate and complex operation to move the 10-tonne, 5.80-metre-high sculpture 18 metres from its previous location.
The historic sculpture was separated from its pedestal using diamond wire, and its integrity and safety were ensured throughout the manoeuvre by placing a prestressed wooden reinforcement and installing a metal cage to protect it. The entire process was designed specifically for La Mariblanca.
With this action, we are entering the final stage of the remodelling of this emblematic Madrid enclave, committed to the city and forming part of its transformation.
