This morning, the Mayor of Madrid, José Luis Martínez Almeida, visited the historic Plaza de Olavide, where Azvi has recently completed remodelling works These included enhancing the square’s pedestrian character, reordering its uses and improving mobility, with the aim of making Madrid a more sustainable and respectful city for its citizens and visitors.
The main actions carried out by the Joint Venture Madrid Centro, composed of Azvi and Licuas, included :
- Reorganisation of the surroundings and new distribution of the green areas, as well as the planting of 160 trees.
- Elimination of road sections and creation of new pedestrian areas with limited road traffic.
- Complete renovation of pavements and existing lighting for more efficient illumination.
- Installation of new, modern street furniture.
During his visit, Martínez Almeida assessed the current state of Plaza de Olavide and the surrounding streets. He was accompanied by Azvi’s CEO , Roberto Gallardo, the manager of the Joint Venture Madrid Centro, Ana Galán, Azvi’s Director of Civil Works , Carlos Puebla, the manager of Azvi’s Joint Venture Civil Works , Manuel de la Cruz, and Grupo Azvi’s Director of Institutional Relations , Elena Crespo. , Directors from Licuas, our partner in the joint venture, were also present.
