The Lechería–AIFA commuter train begins operations

The President of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum, presided over the inauguration of the Lechería–AIFA section of the major commuter rail project connecting Mexico City (Buenavista station) with Felipe Ángeles International Airport (AIFA). Our subsidiary Cupisa, which specialises in the installation of electromechanical and technological systems,  participated in this expansion.

Along the 23.7 km double-track section Cupisa was involved in the installation of flexible catenary systems, electrification works, and the relocation of compensation sectioning, among other works.

The event was attended by senior Mexican government representatives, including the Governor of the State of Mexico, Delfina Gómez Álvarez; the Head of Government of Mexico City, Clara Brugada Molina; the Governor of the State of Hidalgo, Julio Menchaca Salazar; the Director of the Agency for Trains and Integrated Public Transport, Andrés Lajous Loaeza; the Minister  of Infrastructure, Communications and Transportation (SICT), Jesús Antonio Esteva Medina; the Director General of the National Bank of Public Works and Services, Jorge Mendoza Sánchez; and the resident engineer from the Ministry of National Defence, Iván Hernández Uribe, among other representatives from the public and private sectors.

This new section will benefit more than 80,000 passengers, reducing journey times to 43 minutes.

A decisive step toward more modern, efficient, and sustainable mobility for thousands of people.
