Traccion Rail, Grupo Azvi’s railway transport company, has been awarded the contract to operate Adif locomotives used in various operations, including maintenance work and incident response on the railway network.
The contract covers tasks such as:
- Train operations at the start of commercial service.
- Extraordinary runs to respond to incidents, including recovery of faulty AV train sets, snow removal, or infrastructure-related incidents.
- Operations of maintenance work trains.
- Any other activities requested by Adif to fulfill its role as Railway Infrastructure Manager.
It also includes preparatory tasks for railway operations, such as traffic planning, capacity request management, and fuel management.
Traccion Rail, together with Redalsa, will provide these services in the southern and northwest zones, covering both high-speed and conventional rail networks, over a four-year period for a total of €49.7 million.
With this new contract, Traccion Rail contributes to achieving SDG 9: building resilient, sustainable, and quality infrastructure.
