Alfonso Budiño, General Manager of Cointer, discusses public-private cooperation at the CESUR conference

Alfonso Budiño, General Manager of our concessionaire Cointer, took part in the conference ‘Private-Public Cooperation in Infrastructure Financing’ organised by CESUR Empresarios del Sur de España.

In his speech, he highlighted the role of public-private cooperation as “a valuable tool for accelerating investment”, crucial for advancing the development of vital infrastructure in our region which directly impacts the growth of our communities.

The forum was opened by CESUR‘s Executive Vice-President, Fernando Seco, who focused on the importance of the private sector in “promoting and implementing infrastructure“.

Mario Muñoz-Atanet, Deputy Minister for Development, Territorial Planning and Housing of the Regional Government of Andalusia, Juan Sucunza, Executive Vice-President of Grupo EULEN, and Guillermo Martín, Commercial Director of Business Banking for Western Andalusia at CaixaBank, took part in a round table discussion moderated by Ricardo Astorga, Managing Partner at Zurbarán Abogados and Chairman of CESUR’s Private-Public Cooperation Committee.

In his speech, the Deputy Minister emphasized that public-private cooperation is achievable with the right tools and well-defined projects with the necessary controls.

Mr Sucunza described this type of cooperation as “investment generating” and “a key driver for regional growth “, while Mr Martín affirmed that “cooperation between the public and private sectors has the potential to boost Andalusia’s economic and social development, driving investment, promoting innovation and creating jobs.
