Azvi’s rehabilitation of the Cañas – Limonal section in Costa Rica is now open to traffic
The 20.8 km Cañas-Limonal stretch of Costa Rica’s National Route 1/North Inter-American Route has been opened to traffic. The rehabilitation and expansion to four lanes carried out by Azvi, incorporates high quality standards in signalling, lighting, mobility and road safety.
This is one of the main road arteries in the north of the country and a key route for the transport of goods between Central American countries. Its commissioning will also provide huge benefits for tourism in the province of Guanacaste.
One of the singularities of the project is the fact that it has been executed in concrete with a paver.
Works include:
- Construction of secondary roads
- Seven bridges for vehicles
- Seven pedestrian bridges
- 18 wildlife crossings (six overpasses, six underpasses and six bridges).
A great job by a great team! 1
