Construcciones Urales has reached a new milestone in the Maya Train project with the production of 300,000 sleepers in our factory in Poxilá (Yucatán). This is the most sophisticated sleeper production plant in the Americas, with a production capacity of 1,600 concrete ties /day.
Designed, built and operated by Construcciones Urales, the plant is an automated factory with a carousel production system. It is equipped with:
- A pre-stressed system to combat mould, with riveted wire and anchor plates.
- A curing system with steam chamber and controlled temperature.
- A concrete plant for exclusive use with a capacity of 1 m3 every 3 min.
- The electrical system is connected online for assistance and control.
The concrete tie factory will supply around 400,000 of these sleepers to section 3 of the Maya Train.
