Cupisa, our Mexico-based subsidiary specialising in electrical installations and electromechanical systems, has carried out the first energization tests of the catenary system for the Suburban Train extension linking Buenavista in Mexico City with Felipe Ángeles International Airport (AIFA).
These tests verified the electrical continuity, grounding, mechanical strength, and the proper operation of protection systems ahead of the start of railway operations.
For this project, the following have been installed:
• More than 60 km of overhead contact line
• 7 turnouts
• 40 sectioning switches
It also included the electrification of tracks serving sidings and rolling stock inspection and maintenance areas
Once operational, the rail link will connect Buenavista and AIFA in approximately 40 minutes, improving mobility and connectivity across the metropolitan area and benefiting thousands of passengers.
Great work! Great team!
