Cupisa, the subsidiary of Construcciones Urales specialized in electromechanical and technological systems in Mexico, has started the electrification of Section 3 (Calkiní-Izamal) of the Tren Maya.
Specifically, Cupisa, the first company to carry out this work, is electrifying over 130 km. Using AVE C350 technology, the electrification is being carried out according to the highest engineering standards for catenary systems.
To date, the progress includes:
- 3,500 foundations completed
- 2,500 catenary poles installed
- 17 km of conductors laid
- 215 cantilever units installed
Construcciones Urales is responsible for the construction of Section 3, which spans 160 km, of which 60 km are double-track electrified and 100 km single-track.
