The last 20 wagons of our pulp rail transport project for UPM are making their way across the Atlantic.
In total, 140 wagons and 7 locomotives among the most cutting edge in Latin America, will transport more than 2 million tons per year from the UPM plant in Paso de los Toros to the port of Montevideo.
PorTren, the company formed by our concessionaire Cointer and Christophersen (CHR Group), is in charge of the supply of all the rolling stock, as well as the construction of a railway operation and maintenance centre.
The DBCC Transport consortium, made up of Cointer and Christophersen (CHR Group) and Deutsche Bahn International Operation, will operate this rail service for 25 years.
