Azvi today welcomed the Regional Minister of Transport of the Community of Madrid, David Pérez García, to its construction site for the extension of Metro de Madrid Line 3, together with the Secretary General for Transport of the Government of Spain, María José Rallo del Olmo, the CEO of Metro de Madrid, Silvia Roldán, the Director General of Infrastructure and Public Transport of the Community of Madrid, Miguel Núñez, and the Mayor of Getafe, Sara Hernández Barroso, to see firsthand the works being carried out jointly with Cotodisa Obras y Servicios and Ossa for the expansion of the Madrid metro line from Villaverde Alto (Madrid) to El Casar (Getafe).
Accompanied by Roberto Gallardo Fernández-Diez, CEO of Azvi, along with company executives Carlos Puebla Montalvo and Tomás Jodra, UTE managers Marcos Chico and Ignacio Quesada, and Technical Office Head José Miguel Auvray, the delegation had the opportunity to visit the cut-and-cover tunnel under construction, where 7.5 meters have already been excavated.
The section has a total length of 2,624 meters, of which 2,135 meters are being executed using the Belgian (Madrid traditional) method, and 120 meters are built between diaphragm walls, leading to the start of the new intermodal El Casar station, also included in the project.
The works are expected to be completed by the end of 2023, with an investment of over 90 million euros. This project will benefit around one million users in the southern area of the Madrid region. At Azvi, we continue working to make it a reality.
