The President of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum, attended a preview of the Chalco–Santa Marta Elevated Trolleybus Line during its commissioning phase. This key urban mobility project will connect the State of Mexico with Mexico City, benefiting over three million people
At Grupo Azvi, we are proud to have contributed to the construction of this strategic infrastructure through the involvement of our Mexican subsidiaries:
- Construcciones Urales: responsible for the civil works at the Santa Marta terminal station and the elevated viaduct, as well as the urban development and final finishes.
- Cupisa: in charge of the catenary and traction electromechanical system, electrical substations, and the control system—essential components to ensure efficient operation of the trolleybus.
During the commissioning event, President Claudia Sheinbaum was accompanied by the Head of Government of Mexico City, Clara Brugada; the Governor of the State of Mexico, Delfina Gómez; the Director of Mexico City Electric Transport, Martín López; General Cervantes Loza; the Secretary of Infrastructure, Communications, and Transport, Jesús Esteva; and the Director of the Railway Transport Regulatory Agency, Andrés Lajous. The event was also attended by Alejandro Sánchez Castillo, Director of Construcciones Urales, and Julio José Cruz Moya, Director of Cupisa.
In this initial phase, service is provided at nine stations with an alternative route through the State of Mexico while hydraulic infrastructure work continues at the remaining six stations.
We are committed to modern, sustainable infrastructure that improves quality of life and transforms urban mobility.
