The President of Mexico visits two of the country’s most important projects carried out by Construcciones Urales

The President of Mexico, Andrés Manuel López Obrador (AMLO), has visited two of the country’s most emblematic railway projects, in which Construcciones Urales is participating.

On Friday, 15 September, he attended the inauguration of the first 20 km section of the Mexico-Toluca Intercity Train (known as El Insurgente), which connects Zinacatepec with Lerma in an average time of 16 minutes. Construcciones Urales, in consortium with CAF, Isolux and Thales, is carrying out the construction and assembly of the track and catenary along the 60 km total length of the infrastructure.

In addition, on Sunday 17 September, it carried out the first test run of the Isthmus of Tehuantepec Railway (FIT) between the ports of Salina Cruz (Oaxaca) and Coatzacoalcos (Veracruz). In this corridor, Construcciones Urales, together with Recsa, has rehabilitated the 42 km of track on Line Z between Salina Cruz and Medias Aguas.

Both projects will improve mobility for citizens by reducing transport times and connection and traffic problems.
