Our construction works on the Las Angosturas bypass have brought to light the archaeological remains of an important and unique Roman oil mill for the production of olive oil dating from approximately the 1st and 2nd centuries. The Regional Minister of Development, Marifrán Carazo, and the General Director of Infrastructures, Enrique Catalina, have visited the works to present the solution designed with the primary aim of protecting our historical and cultural heritage.
To do so, Azvi will execute a 740 m long diversion, between km 3.2 and 3.9, which will involve the formation of an embankment that maintains the geometric design, alignment and road elevation. 77,000 cubic metres of soil will also be moved.
This solution will allow us to preserve our history for future generations, while continuing to work to provide a safer road in Priego de Córdoba, where the Las Angosturas bypass will eliminate the highly dangerous existing winding route.
