The new railway station in Arna, Norway, is now a reality. The Azvi Norge team is proud of being part of the achievement of this important milestone for Bane NOR. The commissioning of the entire station, once its renovation has been completed, as well as the rehabilitation and extension of zone 1 of the old Ulriken tunnel (1.3 km), also enable a new rail connection between the new and old tunnels, which run between Arna and Bergen along 8 km.
To this end, we have provided our client with all the necessary technical and human resources. Azvi’s works have included track assembly, catenary installation, low-voltage electrical installations, as well as the excavation and waterproofing of the tunnel.
All of this represented a real challenge in terms of coordination, planning and intense follow-up. It integrates a wide range of activities of both Azvi’s teams and other contractors such as Skanska (infrastructure, building and station installations) and Thales-Nokia (signalling and railway communications), which had to carry out their work in the same space and timeline. This has been possible thanks to exhaustive planning and monitoring and follow-up processes.
