Azvi, together with Licuas through the Madrid Centro II Joint Venture, has completed the renovation works of Plaza del Rastrillo and its surroundings streets in Madrid’s Malasaña neighbourhood – an intervention aimed at improving accessibility, comfort and safety.
The Deputy Mayor of Madrid, Inma Sanz, and the Delegate for Public Works and Facilities at Madrid City Council, Paloma García Romero, today inaugurated this renewed urban space at an event attended by Azvi’s Civil Works Director, Carlos Puebla, Civil Works Group Manager, Ana Galán, and Site Manager, Ramón Morales.
The project has breathed new life into this urban space, restoring it as a neighbourhood meeting point, commercial area and children’s play space. Architectural barriers have been eliminated, pavements resurfaced and street furniture renewed. New landscaping has been introduced to reduce the urban heat island effect and improve the environmental quality of the area. Traffic has also been reorganized to prioritise pedestrians and promote safer, more accessible movement through the square.
We continue contributing to the transformation of sustainable, people-centred public spaces.
