In the presence of the President of the Community of Madrid, we have successfully broken through the main tunnel of the L3 section of the Madrid Metro between Villaverde Alto and El Casar.
Isabel Díaz Ayuso had the opportunity to witness this important milestone and to learn in detail about the work carried out in this tunnel, which was constructed using three systems: a complete section using the Madrid sequential method, the Belgian method and a cut and cover tunnel by the joint venture, made up of Azvi, Ossa and Cotodisa.
In the words of the President, this is “excellent work that demonstrates the commitment, professionalism, quality and excellence of all those involved“.
Díaz Ayuso was accompanied by the Minister of Housing, Transport and Infrastructure, Jorge Rodrigo, the Mayor of Getafe, Sara Hernández, and the Director General of Infrastructure, Miguel Núñez, among other authorities, as well as representatives of the contracting companies, including Roberto Gallardo, CEO of Azvi, Carlos Puebla, Director of Civil Works of Azvi, Elena Crespo, Director of IR and Communication of Grupo Azvi, and Manuel Crespo Mancha, Manager of UTE Metro L3 El Casar.
The project, which will link Villaverde Alto (Madrid) with El Casar (Getafe), has achieved the following milestones to date:
- 80% of the tunnel excavated (1,680 m).
- 100% of the side support walls for the cut and cover tunnel.
- 100% of the pedestrian gallery connecting to the commuter train station.
- The railway gallery connecting to the Metrosur line 12 is under excavation.
- The new station is already in the platform construction phase.
