Our client Bane NOR has just celebrated a major milestone: the inauguration of the Arna-Bergen railway line, in which Azvi Norge is proud to have participated with two major projects:
- The rehabilitation and extension of the old 7.7 km long Ulriken tunnel, which required more than 400 blastings.
- The installation of track, catenary and installations in the new Ulriken tunnel, where the country’s first ballastless track was installed in 2020.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by the Norwegian Minister of Transport, Jon-Ivar Nygård, Bane NOR’s Western Development Project Manager, Hans-Egil Larsen, Azvi Group President, Manuel Contreras Caro, Azvi’s delegate in Scandinavia, José Manuel Fernández Torres, and Azvi’s Business Development Director, Manuel Borrás, as well as representatives of the other companies involved in the construction of the line, all of whom received recognition for their efforts.
The old Ulriken tunnel was built in the 1960s and runs parallel to the new Ulriken tunnel. The work on both infrastructures has made it possible to double the length of the line on the Arna-Floen section.
Takk for innsatsen!!
Great work! Great team!
