To coincide with the celebration of the EU-CELAC summit in Brussels, the President of the Republic of Chile, Gabriel Boric, made a working stop in Madrid with the aim of strengthening ties between Chile and Spain. The President held several business meetings during his stay.

One of these was organized by the Chile-Spain Foundation, of which Grupo Azvi is a patron. Azvi’s Director of Risk and Contract Management, Víctor Martín Gómez, represented the company at the meeting.

The meeting was also attended by Spain’s Ministers for Foreign Affairs and Energy, the director of InvestChile, the director of ProChile Spain, a delegation of Chilean businesswomen, as well as the president of the Chile-Spain Foundation, Emilio Gilolmo, and its director, M. Ángeles Osorio.

The Chilean president outlined the country’s main economic and social guidelines for the coming years, explaining key issues such as technological, digital and sustainable transformation to the participants. He also highlighted the importance of green hydrogen, energy storage and transfer, the supply chain, the exploitation of lithium, an improvement in the speed of bureaucratization, tax reform, as well as the gender perspective in trade agreements and public policies, among others.

During his speech, Azvi’s Director of Risk was able to convey our twenty-year relationship with the country and present the projects in which the company is immersed in Chile, both in the field of infrastructure and in concession businesses, mainly airports and logistics.

Finally, the President of Chile thanked the permanence and diversification of Spanish investment, as well as its stance to transform and promote the regions. Both the Chile-Spain Foundation and its member companies carry out projects across the country, from Arica and Parinacota to Magallanes and the Chilean Antarctic.

The event was closed by the Chilean Ambassador to Spain, Sergio Velasco, who once again highlighted the good relationship between the Embassy and the Foundation and the importance of Spanish investment in the daily lives of Chileans.
