The tunnel breakthrough was carried out by roadheader and represents an important milestone in this project, as Altza station will become a transit point for the Topo line, connecting it to the future Pasaia terminal.
The latest advances in this project are:
- In the line tunnel we have completed the advance excavation, we are continuing with the implementation of ground support and we will start the excavation from the entrance of the Galtzaraborda tunnel.
- At Pasaia station once the Molinao estuary was restored to its natural course, we completed the construction of the diaphragm walls and are now constructing the upper slab and excavating the terminal underneath.
- In Galtzaraborda, we are finalising the works so that the roadheader can begin excavation works and reach Pasaia station, and completing the tunnel installations, treatment plant, decanters and accesses.
With this project, Azvi demonstrates its commitment to improving the mobility of thousands of citizens, taking another step forward on our path towards a more connected and sustainable future for all. .
