Construcciones Urales Begins Track Installation on the Cable-Stayed Viaduct for the Mexico–Toluca Intercity Train

Our subsidiary has begun preliminary work for the installation of slab track on the 519-metre-long “El Manantial” viaduct, located near the Vasco de Quiroga station of the train known as El Insurgente. This isone of the most significant phases of this major project that will revolutionize mobility in the Valley of Mexico.

The work includes:

  • Installation of a total of 1,200 metres of slab track
  • Installation of 124.56 tonnes of UIC60 rail
  • Placement of 2,968 elastic rail fastenings
  • Electric welding and stress relief
  • Levelling, alignment, and installation of railway expansion devices

The Mexico–Toluca Intercity Train will connect Zinacantepec and Observatorio in just 39 minutes, reaching speeds of up to 160 km/h, and transporting up to 230,000 passengers per day.
