After a two-year closure due to the expansion works at Madrid’s Chamartín Station, the viaduct and the access ramp from Hiedra Street have reopened to traffic, restoring the connection between the station and the surrounding public space.
This reopening marks the recovery of a key transport link and represents a major milestone in the development of this strategic project that will shape the future of mobility and connectivity in Madrid and across Spain.
Since September 2022, Azvi, as part of a joint venture with Constructora San José, Comsa, and Vías, has been leading the station’s taxi deck expansion works included in the Chamartín project — culminating in the reopening of the Hiedra Street viaduct on November 5.
At Azvi, we continue to contribute our expertise and commitment to one of Spain’s most ambitious railway projects: expanding, modernizing, and transforming Chamartín Station to meet the new demands of high-speed rail and intermodality.
