Launch of the steel footbridge for the Ribera del Guadaíra cycle lane

Azvi has successfully completed the launching of the steel structure for the new Ribera del Guadaíra cycle lane, which will enable pedestrians and cyclists to cross the river, connecting Pablo de Olavide University with the municipality of Dos Hermanas.

Main characteristics of the footbridge:

  • Width: 5.66 m.
  • Height: 4 m.
  • Length: 48.88 m.
  • Weight of the steel structure: 62 t.

For the launch, a 700-tonne and a 250-tonne telescopic crane were used simultaneously, ensuring precision and safety.

Prior to the launch, a reinforced concrete abutment was constructed on each of the riverbanks and the four sections forming the footbridge were assembled.

With the structure now in place, the final phase of this project can begin to place the composite slab, execute the concrete deck slab, and fit the railings and lighting.

We continue building solutions that improve people’s lives and contribute to more sustainable, safe and connected mobility for the Seville metropolitan area.

This project is promoted by Alcalá de Guadaíra Town Council and financed through European NextGenerationEU Funds.
