We take a look today at progress on Azvi’s 2.2 km section of the San Sebastián Metro for Euskal Trenbide Sarea (ETS). The project is advancing significantly across all fronts, bringing us ever closer to the final phase of execution.
- Altza–Pasaia Tunnel Section (940 m): Following completion of tunnel excavation using the New Austrian Tunnelling Method (NATM), this section is nearing completion, with lining works finished and slab track installed.
- Pasaia–Galtzaraborda Section (744 m): With tunnel excavation and lining completed, slab track installation is under way, with 565 m already assembled.
- Pasaia Station (196 m): with the slab track already installed, finishing and fit-out works are now in progress Urban redevelopment of Gure Zumardía Street also continues, including the creation of a new, more open public square prioritising pedestrian areas, green spaces and children’s play areas.
- Galtzaraborda area: the new covering structure is nearing completion prior to connecting the new alignment and the existing station.
The project is being carried out through a joint venture with COMSA, Nortúnel and CAMPEZO.
