Today, Rocío Diaz, the Minister of Public Works for the Andalusian Regional Government, visited Azvi’s worksite on the Las Angosturas bypass in Priego de Córdoba.
The Minister was accompanied by the town’s Mayor, Juan Ramón Valdivia, as well as the Deputy Minister of Public Works, Mario Muñoz-Atanet; the Government Delegate for the Regional Government in Córdoba, Adolfo Molina; the Director General of Road Infrastructure, Alfonso Lujano, and the Territorial Delegate of Public Works in Córdoba, Carmen Granados. Azvi executives Carlos Puebla and Tomás Jodra, and the head of the works, Antonio Jesús Jiménez welcomes the delegation.
The work carried out so far on the A-333 is 75% complete and is currently focused on:
- The construction of the Los Cipreses by-pass: a 740-metre section designed to protect the archaeological remains discovered during the works: a Roman oil mill for the production of oil, dating from the 1st and 2nd centuries, as well as a road and a ‘natatio’. To preserve these finds, an embankment will be constructed to maintain the road’s geometry in both plan and elevation, and 77,000 cubic metres of earth will be moved.
- Slope protection works will be carried out to guarantee the stability of the terrain and the safety of the infrastructure. .
he 5.6 km Las Angosturas bypass will replace the existing winding route and provide a safer alternative for all road users.
We remain committed to safety and the preservation of our heritage!
