Azvi has reached a new milestone in the work to extend the L3 line of the Metro de Madrid with the connection of the line tunnel and the emergency exit at KP 1+890.
The event was attended by Jorge Rodrigo Domínguez, Regional Minister of Housing, Transport and Infrastructure for the Community of Madrid, and Miguel Núñez, General Director of Public Transport Infrastructures. They were joined by Roberto Gallardo, Azvi’s CEO, Carlos Puebla Montalvo, Azvi’s Director of Civil Works, and Manuel Crespo Mancha, Manager of UTE Metro L3 El Casar, as well as Pablo Pacios Ferrero and Luis Aznar Almazán, the representatives from the ‘s other companies which make up the joint venture: Ossa and Cotodisa respectively.
1,200 metres of underground tunnel, or 57% of the total of this project, which will link the Villaverde Alto station (Madrid) to the new El Casar station (Getafe), have already been completed. The construction of the main tunnel screens is in its final phase, and the rest of the work is in full swing, with work on the interior of the new station, the creation of emergency galleries and the pedestrian and rail link between the stations standing out.
