The president of ADIF, María Luisa Domínguez, yesterday previewed the new concourse that will serve the Madrid Chamartín-Clara Campoamor station.
She was accompanied by Azvi’s CEO, Roberto Gallardo Fernández-Díez, the manager of the Chamartín Vías-Azvi joint venture, José Montero, our Railway area director, César Domínguez González-Seco, Grupo Azvi’s director of IR, Communication and CR, Elena Crespo, and members of the works team, together with other executives from the railway administrator.
In a joint venture with Vías y Construcciones S.A., we have carried out the restoration of the former 1970s vestibule, abandoned for over 30 years, Aafter commissioning, the station will provide a direct connection between the Suburban,High speed and Metro networks, giving users faster access and more agile transfers.
Our work has included:
- The demolition of raised flooring, false ceilings, installations and other existing elements, as well as part of the canopies on platforms 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 7.
- Construction of new pillars in the area of the vestibule.
- Reconfiguration of the space and execution of new finishes.
- Construction of new mezzanine floor slab.
- Interior refurbishment of the existing lobby.
- Refurbishment of the entrances, escalators and stairways, connecting with platforms.
- Work and installation of new lifts connecting to platforms.
We are now continuing work on the renovation of platforms and tracks at the station.
